I like working with people who make it easy to be yourself. People who are open to ideas, comfortable saying “I don’t know”, and willing to help each other out.

I’ve been lucky to experience teams where we could work seriously when it mattered, but also laugh loudly, sing when things got tough and occasionally be a little silly.

I like having enough time at the beginning of a project to understand what I’m actually solving.

I enjoy digging into a new topic, looking at the market, testing ideas and trying things out before jumping to a solution.

I can get attached to an idea — it happens. But I’m happy to change my mind when someone shows me a better way forward.

At the end of the day, we’re not designing for ourselves. We’re designing for people with their own habits, needs and ways of doing things.

And I’m still learning to trust that little voice saying, “Hmm… I’m not sure about this.” More often than not, it’s worth listening to.
